Designing in space, outside of time.

Simplicity

Simplicity is that grace which frees the soul from all unnecessary reflections upon itself. — François de Salignac de La Mothe-Fénelon

The world is an immense mirror. Simplicity is the art of deciding which reflections are worth keeping.

The wet rock spins around a fire.

The Milky Way. One galaxy among hundreds of billions of galaxies in the observable universe. Somewhere inside it, a wet rock is spinning around a fire star. Earth — roughly 4.5 billion years old, with about 71% of its surface covered in water.

Humans appeared roughly 300,000 years ago — carbon-based lifeforms, roughly 60% water, doing things. For most of that time, making tools, telling stories, building civilizations, creating religions, drawing borders, making art, trading things, falling in love.

Civilisation / Progress

Printing became widespread in Europe about 500 years ago. Humans used it to reproduce information, tell stories, sell things, advertise, persuade. Electricity became part of everyday life roughly 100 years ago. The internet, as something ordinary people actually use, for about 30 years. Smartphones, for roughly 20 years.

It's 2026. Somehow, all of this happened on that wet rock spinning around a fire.

Humans keep making things. Tools, systems, products, companies, cities, cultures, stories. We keep finding new ways to do things, and new things to do.

Fun.

People & businesses

Why do people do business?

People have things they want to make, things they want to do, things they know how to do, things they believe other people might want. So they make something. They offer it. Someone wants it. An exchange happens.

An idea becomes a product. A product becomes a company. A company becomes a name, a reputation, a place in people's minds. People see it, experience it, talk about it, choose it or ignore it.

People doing things.

You doing things. Sometimes we make something together. I help make things that feel right. We make you more proud of your business.

There are things to figure out. Things to communicate. Things to make. That's where I come in.

How I work

Situations

When I encounter something, I dissect the story and the situation around it. I look at the different parts, how they relate to each other, and what is happening within the whole. Then I zoom out and look at it from a wider perspective.

I keep moving between the details and the bigger picture until I understand the situation well enough to see what needs to happen. Then I figure out how to make it happen.

  1. Choose. Who and what I want to work with.
  2. Get to know. The people, the thing, the context.
  3. Observe. Analyse. Look closely. Find what matters.
  4. Imagine. Explore what could be.
  5. Create. Give it form.
  6. Refine. Make it right.

Arty fictional intelligence

The mind takes things in and makes things up. Ideas, possibilities. It mixes, connects, processes — and somehow dreams experience in the so-called material world. Weaving dreams means understanding the mind. That is what creative professionals do. In the web of existence, you'll find our dreams intertwine.

Thinking and making

I think about things, produce ideas, and make them real.

I've been doing this for a long time — identities, publications, websites, ideas, and many various things and projects that don't fit neatly into a category. Covering almost all niches in 3 decades, I grasp what matters. I like figuring out what something wants to become, and then making it real.

That's pretty much it.

Let's make something good

Have something worth making?

Why something rather than nothing?

Because something is better than nothing.

An idea is nothing until someone gives it form. A business is nothing until people notice it. A product is nothing until someone wants it.

Things become real when we make them real.
